Neal L. Wolkoff is Chief Executive Officer of ELX Futures, L.P. Previously, Mr. Wolkoff served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the American Stock Exchange (Amex). Mr. Wolkoff was appointed to the post in April 2005, after serving as Acting CEO.
Prior to the Amex, for over 20 years, Mr. Wolkoff held several senior level officer positions at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) including as Acting President, Chief Operating Officer, and Senior Vice President for Regulation and Clearing. His tenure at NYMEX included responsibility for all major functions of the exchange. Mr. Wolkoff started his career as an Honors Program Trial Attorney in the Division of Enforcement, Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
Mr. Wolkoff has been a guest lecturer at MIT’s Sloan School of Management, Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, School of Management and College. He has appeared as an expert witness on commodities in federal court on behalf of the Department of Justice, and been a frequent public speaker on market issues at industry and government conferences and seminars. He has frequently appeared on television and radio and been widely quoted in the press as well as had editorials published in The Wall Street Journal and Financial Times.
He received a B.A. from the College of Columbia University and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law, and is a member of the Bar of the State of New York and the United States District Court, Southern District of New York. Mr. Wolkoff is on the Board and Executive Committee of the Solomon Schechter Day School of Essex and Union, and is an active supporter of the Celiac Disease Foundation of Columbia University.
